My appreciation for the visual arts started long before I went to school. As a kid, I watched my dad draw Maori patterns on wood, then watch him work days, weeks, even months carving that pattern out, revealing the vision he'd had in his head all along.
It’s a painstaking, slow process and the flow of wood-chips to the dining room floor is seemingly endless. The results are breathtaking.
I took a slightly different path, entering the world of visual arts over 2 decades ago. Along the way, I've held a variety of positions, including Mac Operator, Pre-Press Artist, Print Buyer, Studio Artist, Art Director, Designer, and currently Design Director.
